From the ashes of MSL the boys raised to the occasion to grab the 4th spot of the My-NPL 2010 season finale. The venue was first class, the field was perfect and the atmosphere was historic. TGC grabbed a win off the first game of the day in prelims then suffered 3 straight losses by which not many can bounce back from. The boys got their game up and won all 4 remaining games to seed mid table at the end of prelims.
Sweet 16 was up against Dark Knights which was dealt in straight sets to advance to the top 8 meeting Scarecrow. It was down to the wire which we came up tops winning 2 out of 3 games trading body counts one after another. Advancing to the Semis we met rivals turned friends SiR. With utmost respect it was a battle well fought but again history repeats itself and we conceded defeat against a very tough and clinical opponent.
The bronze final we played our cards a bit too cautiously which Kraken capitalized and poked through our defence and made us undone in quick successions. It did not help with dubious calls that cost us key positions up field and we never recovered. Settling for 4th was not exactly the plan and thus it hurt a little but we have some consolation for qualifying promotion one division higher and thus we shall meet our favourite opponents again next year. With that Grammaton Clerics finished the season at 7th place to make the top 8 Division 3 teams to be promoted to Division 2 in My-NPL 2011 season.
