2011 International Super Sevens Championship

The International Super Sevens Championship was organized this year in Putrajaya as a side event in support of the National Youth Day celebrations. The turn up was pretty good with a healthy participation from local teams as well as teams from the Philippines and Singapore.

First off the there were problems with the compressed air supply. Imagine filling 3500 at most and running out of air mid game. The layout didn't help much because the big bunkers were prime for camping. The field was good though... the weather was punishing. Minimal foliage around all we could say it was damn hot.

Prelims were split for Saturday and Sunday. We pulled to qualify strongly for prelims.... however from there onward it was not easy. Perhaps being too comfortable and not really playing a Grammaton game. Our campaigned ended in the Q8 when we pulled our game into overtime against Malay Eastsiders. Succumbing to a one on one for a decider is never a comfortable thing but the marshalls called it and that was left with that. 7th place overall in Am/Nov.

However we fared better than last year in the same event, we didn't make the cut during the prelims. We dont take defeats very handsomely but that is just telling of our competitive spirit for 2011 so far. We shall return and chase for that trophy next year.

Greatest thanks to Dye Precision, RPS, Energy Paintball and Napshot for the support and awesome equipment. Kelab Sukan Nemesis for organizing a very competitive tournament.
